Crown NetApp SnapLock Connector
Crown Partners NetApp™ SnapLock™ Connector automates archival of content stored in EMC Documentum repositories to NetApp storage devices with SnapLock technology, according to configurable retention policies. This allows organizations to meet strict records management regulations. The Crown Partners NetApp SnapLock Connector provides a bridge between EMC Documentum Content Server and NetApp SnapLock to meet stringent records management requirements by enabling business-critical content to be both unalterable and rapidly accessible online for long periods of time.
With archive policy definitions, NetApp SnapLock Connector maintains flexible, easy-to-maintain archive policy definitions that are contained in an XML file. Organizations may set retention policy elements for one or more EMC Documentum object types. Archive-ready criteria, which indicate an object is ready to be archived on NetApp, may be simple or complex. The content owner, security, or both may be changed at the time of archival.
NetApp SnapLock Connector's archive operations are automated according to a schedule designed to meet business requirements. Content and associated rendition and annotation files are moved to the NetApp filestore. NetApp storage for each file is locked per relevant policies. Archive operations are scheduled via the DA or OS scheduler. Logs are created for all archive runs, and an EMC Documentum audit trail entry is created for each archived document.
With NetApp SnapLock Connector, authorized users can view archived content in read-only mode. The ability to view is based on the security settings for each retention policy. In addition, location of archived content is transparent to the user.
