Lynn Fraas was born in bustling San Francisco California and lived 30 minutes from the beach when her dad was transferred. So at age 14 she found herself in land-locked Bartlett Illinois, a rural town of 3,500. That dramatic change was an early opportunity for Lynn to embrace change and thrive in unfamiliar territory. This skill has been an asset in her wide-ranging professional life, a self-described process of “Making a career out of things I don’t know anything about” or “Living on the edge of incompetence.”
Lynn has worked her way up from lower level positions to positions of influence during each successive employment opportunity and, as a result, has developed a keen appreciation for the work conducted at all levels of an organization. She worked in dental offices as a certified dental assistant then diversified into roles of personnel clerk and back-up receptionist upon joining Safety-Kleen Corp. Eighteen years of hard work earned Lynn numerous promotions and the honor of participating in an executive development program, culminating in an MBA from the University of Chicago. Lynn naively believed she would retire from Safety-Kleen, however a hostile takeover cut short that vision.
Lynn left the realm of environmental services and entered the world of technology consulting, joining Doculabs as their VP of Operations. During her six years at Doculabs, Lynn worked her way up to the position of COO and was responsible for the Consulting organization, Finance, Human Resources and Operations. Out of the blue in 2006, a former colleague offered Lynn the position of SVP of Delivery for a new organization: Empagio. Lynn’s passion to build organizations was stirred and she joined forces with Empagio. A provider of Human Resource Management software and services, Lynn found Empagio to be a fun, focused company with a great culture and staff. The momentum continued until Empagio’s parent company filed for bankruptcy and sold the company.
Lynn joined Crown Partners in October of 2007 as a Director in the Strategic Services Group. She has held multiple positions at Crown from Portfolio Manager to VP of Business Operations and most recently as VP of Technology Practices. She ensures Crown’s Technology practices walk the fine line between efficiency and effectiveness.
Lynn has also had the honor of serving as a Director on several Boards, including Doculabs Inc. and Corporate America Family Credit Union. Due to time constraints, Lynn has limited her current Board participation to AIIM International. She has been a Director of AIIM since 2005 and currently holds the position of Board Chair.
Lynn has been married to Mike Fraas for 33 years and they have two exceptional, well-rounded children. Lynn would love to have a dog but living in Illinois, and working everywhere but Illinois does not bode well for that dream in the near term.
